Build Developer Conference was held at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MAI-Thinking-1: Microsoft\u2019s first inference model debuts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most anticipated release of this build is<strong>MAI-Thinking-1<\/strong>, Microsoft\u2019s first self-developed inference model.<a href=\"https:\/\/claude.ai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Claude<\/a> Like Opus, MAI-Thinking-1 performs an internal chain of reasoning before answering and is good at mathematics, programming and logical analysis tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For developers, this means that the Azure ecosystem finally has a platform that can work with GPT-5 and<a href=\"https:\/\/claude.ai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Claude<\/a> Opus\u2019 competitive \u201cin-house reasoning brain\u201d no longer needs to rely entirely on third-party models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The MAI model family has been fully upgraded: three major modes: image, voice, and transcription.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Microsoft has simultaneously upgraded the first-generation MAI model released in April and launched three major upgrades:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>MAI-Image-2.5<\/strong>: A new generation of image generation and editing model, supporting Vincentian diagrams and image editing, which has been gradually launched in Bing, PowerPoint and Copilot.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MAI-Voice-2<\/strong>: Supports multi-language voice cloning and text-to-speech, and now supports 15+ languages.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MAI-Transcribe-1.5<\/strong>: Speech-to-text model, supports 43 languages, batch transcription speed is 2.5 times faster than Azure Fast, ranking first in FLEURS benchmark test.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These three models cover three high-frequency business scenarios: speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and image generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Microsoft Scout: Your personal AI working agent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another notable release on Build is<strong>Microsoft Scout<\/strong>, a personal AI agent for the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is in direct competition with the \"Gemini helps you book an appointment\" function released by Google at the I\/O conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Surface Ultra: a notebook built for local AI inference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In terms of hardware, Microsoft previewed<strong>Surface Ultra<\/strong>Notebook designed for running large AI workloads locally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2
